Chapter 30, The Resonance of Allah The Explanation of the Saying: Prayer is the Hallmark of Iman. Only God will know the glory of God. Only God will know His power and His creation. Amin Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate Qalan-nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam): “Likulh shay’in ‘alamuw-wa ‘alamul-imanis-salah.” Our noble Prophet (Sal) has said, “Everything has its own distinguishing mark or sign, and the distinctive hallmark of iman is prayer. The Prophet (Sal.) said further, “As-salatu ‘imaduddin; faman aqamaha faqad aqamad-din; wa man tarakaha faqad hadamad-din.” This means: Prayer is the pillar that provides the foundation, strength, and stability for the fortress called dinul-Islam (1), which protects and saves us from unceasing sorrows, difficulties, afflictions, and many, many other hostile elements that torment us. Therefore, whosoever stabilizes himself with certitude in prayer strengthens this fortress of dinul-Islam and protects himself from suffering and torment. Whoever disregards prayer has certainly demolished this fortress. As a result, he will get trapped in the nets of those hostile elements and will experience endless sorrow, difficulties, and torment, from which he cannot be redeemed. When the Prophet’s (Sal.) time on earth was ending, his perfectly pure soul, as it was departing from the immeasurably vast-open space of his inner being, said, “Usikum bis-salati, usikum bis-salati, usikum bis-salati.” My final parting instruction to you is that you must establish yourself firmly in prayer, foster it, and cherish it. Anas ibn Malik (Rad.) reported that the above saying was repeated three times. Therefore, my brethren, please reflect deeply upon this and all the other beautiful things that the Prophet (Sal.) has said. Amin, Ya Rabbal-‘alamin. As-salamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullahi Wa barakatuhu kulluhu. May it be so, O Lord of the universes May all the peace, the beneficence, And the blessings of God be upon you. By.
